How to Help the Dead to Escape Kamaloka … by the Theosophists

Dear Ones,

In “The Astral Body and Other Astral Phenomena,” compiled by Arthur E. Powell (1), there are some good passages about how to help the dead to escape kamaloka, the Desire World, also known as the ‘Purgatory’ aspect of the astral realm. In this way they can move on to the next higher plane of being, the Devachan or ‘heaven worlds.’

In “The Astral Body and Other Astral Phenomena,” compiled by Arthur E. Powell (1), “Chapter XIV: The After-Death Life: Particulars,” see pp 134 (starting with paragraph 4, which begins “Whilst most …”) through all of page 135.
